March has kicked off with a fun challenge from our Middle School Leadership Team! Last week they hid 10 clovers around campus each day—inside classrooms and around the school—for students to discover. The challenge? Work together as a school to find 100 clovers by Friday, March 13. If they reach the goal, the whole school earns a Free Dress Day on Tuesday, March 17!
The excitement has definitely been in the air! But one of my favorite things about this challenge hasn’t just been the search—it’s been the incredible math conversations happening naturally among students.
I’ve overheard:
• A first grader counting by 10s to figure out how many more we need.
• A second grader subtracting to calculate how many are still missing.
• Students debating, “Wait… is that an even or odd number?” followed by a confident explanation about the ones place.
• Groups figuring out if finding 10 a day will get us to 100 and recalculating when one goes missing!
But the best part of all? Every single student is working toward one shared goal. Instead of arguing about who found a clover, students are cheering each other on because every clover helps the entire school. Standing by the tracking board, students can tell you exactly which number was found and who discovered it. It’s been a wonderful reminder of what it looks like when our pack works together!
Report cards went home on Friday, giving families a chance to celebrate the many accomplishments our students have made this trimester and also identify goals we can continue working on together. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. If your child is receiving an award this Friday, the invitation was included with the report card.
We are also excited for our ASA Howl Festival this Friday! Our PACK parent group has been working incredibly hard preparing for this One Pack, Many Cultures event, and we can still use volunteers to help supervise jumpers, mazes, and other activities.
Volunteers will receive a free festival shirt, and we welcome moms, dads, and older siblings to help. 👉 Sign up to volunteer:
This is a family event, so students must be accompanied by an adult to enter. Entry is free, and wristbands are only needed for inflatables, the game truck, and face painting.
We hope to see our community there celebrating together as One Pack! 🐺
