As we look ahead to a new week, we’re reminded that strong teams—whether on the field, in the classroom, or in our community—are built when everyone is included and supported.
With the spirit of Super Bowl weekend behind us, it’s a great reminder that success comes from teamwork, perseverance, and people choosing to show up for one another.
During Black History Month, our students will be learning about Black leaders and innovators in the field of STEAM—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Through these lessons, students will explore how creativity, problem-solving, and determination can lead to meaningful change and innovation.
This learning connects directly to our schoolwide theme this year, “Count Me In,” as students are encouraged to: 💚 see themselves as leaders and problem-solvers 💚 value diverse voices and perspectives 💚 include others and work collaboratively 💚 believe that their ideas and contributions matter
When families and school partner together, our wolves grow with confidence and curiosity. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning and for being an essential part of our ASA community. 💚🐺

At Allegiance STEAM Academy, Student-Led Celebrations (SLCs) give students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning. During SLCs, students guide their families through their work, reflect on their growth, and share their goals.
Unlike traditional Parent-Teacher Conferences, students lead the conversation. Families are encouraged to listen, ask supportive questions, and celebrate progress, while teachers serve as facilitators and supporters. Please note that SLCs are not intended for discussing concerns or holding individual conferences. If you would like to address specific questions or concerns, families may request a separate Parent-Teacher Conference by contacting their student’s teacher at any time.
Family Engagement Opportunities at ASA - Triad Conferences – Beginning of the school year
- Student-Led Celebrations – Middle of the school year
- STEAM Live! – End of the school year
📌 Please review the attached graphic for a helpful comparison between Student-Led Celebrations and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Thank you for partnering with us to celebrate student learning and growth. We look forward to welcoming you! |
We know many of our Fontana families have been asking about the installation of the play structure and shade structure. Per our Facilities Use Agreement with the Fontana Unified School District, these projects are the responsibility of the district.
The latest update from FUSD indicates that the plans are still with civil engineers and must reach 80% completion before being submitted to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) for approval. The district is awaiting confirmation from their architect on next steps.
We will continue to share updates as soon as we receive them. Thank you for your patience as we work with FUSD to ensure these much-anticipated improvements move forward for our Wolves. |

This Week’s Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Skill: Anxiety 🌟
Anxiety is when our brain thinks something might be unsafe or scary, even when we are not in real danger. It is our body’s way of trying to protect us, but sometimes it works a little too hard.
Everyone feels anxious sometimes. It can happen before a test, when trying something new, speaking in front of others, or worrying about friends or family. Learning about anxiety helps us understand our feelings and find healthy ways to calm our body and mind. 💚
💬 Questions to Ask Your Student: - What does anxiety feel like in your body?
- How can anxiety affect the choices we make or how we act?
- How can we support a friend who is feeling anxious?
If you have any questions or would like counseling support for your child, you can reach Mr. Thornhill at (909) 258-9937 or via email at aodhan.thornhill@asathrive.org
Counseling Resources🧠 |
1️⃣ 5–4–3–2–1 Grounding Game (All Ages) Name 5 things you see, 4 you feel, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, and 1 you taste to bring calm to the moment.
2️⃣ Worry Jar (All Ages) Have your child write or draw worries and place them in a jar. Set a time later to talk about them, helping worries feel more manageable.
3️⃣ Safe Place Visualization (All Ages) Ask your child to close their eyes and imagine a place where they feel calm and safe. Describe what they see, hear, and feel.
4️⃣ Music & Mood Reset (All Ages) Play calming music or favorite songs and encourage slow breathing or quiet movement to help release anxious energy.
5️⃣ Positive Self-Talk Practice (Grades 3–8) Practice saying calming phrases like: “I can handle this,” “This feeling will pass,” or “I am safe right now.”
Practicing calming tools at home supports our Wolves in building emotional regulation and confidence. 🐺 |
